Good to be back in the post election Merse. A sad and lone Tory Poster is still flapping forlornly outside the Hutton Village Hall which enjoyed a fleeting moment of glory as our local Polling Station. And good news in the form of a communication from the Dep Ed of the Scotsman whjo has gone back, again, to check out the original story with his free lance reporter-I wonder what other inaccuracies will now be produced-he was foolish to make statements which can all too easily be checked out. I will refrain from involving the Press Complaints Commission until Dep Ed reports back..
The Mail on Sunday has reached rural France and old friends of Huttonian have sent some ribald comments-not be e-mail but on a old fashioned so mid twentieth century device known to the cognescenti as a Picture Postcard. The Picture is of a pickled Frog contemplating his overflowing glass and commenting ' Si Vous Buvez, vous mourrez. Si vous ne buvez pas, vous mourrez...alors buvons' *I could not have put it better my self despite Huttonian's French once being described as 'comme une vache espagnole'* Not too fair on Spanish Cows, I fear.
