Sadly the Deputy Editor of the Scotsman has sided with his free lance reporter over the distorted, scurrilous and one sided story of last week. I am afraid that the Press Complaints Commission have a job to do after all. Rather stupidly the Dep Ed has quoted his reporter about whath said happened at the Community Council Meeting last Wednesday. All 'facts' are again wrong and easily checkable-I hope that the Dep Ed will now, belatedly, look for some collateral for his man's latest allegations. Mr Rodrick-as that is he- apparently claimed that Members of the Community Council put forward a motion to remove the Chairman. But that just did not happen. He aslo claimed that Lawyers from the Borders Council were present at the meeting. Sorry not true again.
Also sadly a reference to the rant has appeared in the William Hickey column of the Daily Express-in fact the diarist speaks in favour of the blog and condemns the alleged attitude of the villagers using unfortunate language about the people of Hutton. I really don't need support from such a quarter, thankyou very much. I suggest that the DE keeps out of it.
