SIR, As anticipated, low flying by the M.O.D. has commenced over the Eastern Borders; over Castle Street, Newtown Street, The Square in particular it appears.Standing outside my house at 10:55am on Tuesday, May 24 whilst talking on the telephone, a very fast flying object passed very low over the top of my head and the noise was bowel movingly loud!!!Not being in any way militarily minded, I couldnt even hazard a guess as to what type of aeroplane it was. I wouldnt even be able to accurately declare how far off the ground it was other than to say that it was flying close enough to ground level for me to recognise one interesting feature; the pilots eyes were BLUE!

I hesitate to challenge the writers account of his bowel quivering experience (I hope, for his sake that they did not move) but I wonder why the pilot had removed his googles to reveal the colour of his eyes. Simple explanation: he was lost and wanted to read the street signs?
