Ht2 believe that this idea (without the Casinos which are left to effete southern folk to waste their substance on) could work well here for local business and enterprise. Cows in these parts) could use one to promote her business here with the whitewashed message:
'Why trail into Berwick? Buy stamps locally and save the cost of 20 second class postage by not using the bus?' No, not catchy, but a Coo has a lot of advertising space so why not spell it out? Then there is the Pub :'
'Tired of Milk Shakes? Try a beer at The Cross!' I am sure the publican would be delighted to have such a message quadrupeded throughout the district for a paltry fiver a week. More macho messages :
THIS IS A NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH AREA' could be painted on to the local Bull and the animal allowed to roam freely to scare off would be burglars, hooligans and door to door salesmen. The Community Council might be persuaded to subsidise this and it would be good business for Big Business. (
