Those bloggees who get fed up with endless images of children of all sexes should brace themselves for a bit of child focus over the next few weeks or else return to the site in late October. The Kids from Oz arrived this morning after the purgatory of a 24 hour flight and we still have Ms Z , the Toddler athelete in residence finishing her pre Winter training schedule. Young Mr P has so far been surprisingly tolerant of First Cousin Ms Z even when she robbed him of his Lego in mid Legging; not even a push or an exposulation but I doubt if this will last and we will inevitably return to the old days of Zero tolerance and ASB from time to time.

Just before setting off to the Airport to pick up the Aussies-issue of the senior daughter an elderly couple wandered into the garden. They had remembered the house as the Manse from 65 years ago and were surprised to learn that the Manse had moved to down town Hutton. They remembered the Rev Mr Leslie who had the living for 60 years and how as schoolchildren the school sports were held on the lawn. Nothing has changed they said (apart from moving the Manse, losing the Pub and the shop/PO and now closing the school.) Sad they said-what do children now do in Hutton they asked. Not a lot we said. Perhaps it was a mistake to come back they thought-Hutton was such a lively village: 40 children in the school, and games on the Lawn. Fancy having to go to Chirnside for their education. What a dump that was.
And they left.
