A second visit to Embra -this time not teeth related but to face the usual challenge of keeping 50 students awake for an hour on a gorgeous day, bright sun, blue skies when they would rather be taking advantage of such fantastic weather getting stocious in a pub. GNER were dead on time into Ber Wick or Ber Rick but our departure was held up by a 'on train incident' -GNERspeak for a stroppy passenger, sorry customer. Nothing happened for a bit apart from collective fuming (non-smoking variety) in Coach F. All the excitement was apparently and appropriately in the 'Quiet Coach' and was sorted when Berrick's finest, both of them, turned up unfastening their bicycle clips as they tore slowly down the platform. We moved off shortly thereafter and I noticed a young man helping the police with their enquiries at the sharp end of Platform 2. He did not appear to be very happy about his cooperation with the Fuzz but at least was not gesticulating with rage. He may have of course have let vent to his feelings at a later stage once the cuffs had been removed. Every day fare (npi) for Disgruntled Commuter I am sure but quite unusual for these parts. I suspect the alleged troublemaker was an effete southerner chancing his arm (pre hand cuffs) amongst decent northern folk. I hope he was deported. We don't want that kind of rabble around here.
Perhaps the
Berwickshire will report all this in its next edition. If it is a southern lad in trouble they will make light of it-sports page perhaps. Otherwise deportation to Scotland and over to Sherriff Kevin of Duns.I will report further if I am spared.
