One of the Merse's major events is the Berwickshire Show held every August in Duns
Tout Berwickshire is there from the Raas with their Panamas, Tweed jackets and brown brogues to the lads in the beer tents, bare chested and sweat stained sneakers. Riding, Scottish dancing, craft displays, bouncy castles, horror shows, axe throwing, portaloos, various sideshows at which Huttonian and Mr P won prizes. The portaloo emptying vehicle with its noisesome tank made a nuisance of itself tearing about virtually emptying the lavatories under bottoms -in- action and leaving a slimy trail behind it. Mind you the portaloos next to the beer tent enjoyed plenty of custom
As these images and those below show there was something for everyone to enjoy (especially if you are in to axe throwing-a possible Olympic event in 2012) although Ms KB spent much of the time walking around with her ice cream-very, very carefully . For Mr P the vintage and specialty cars and the tractors were the highlights.
