The Borders has the odd statue or two-a rather good one of Huttonian's old boss Alec Douglas Home at the Hirsel and a grotesque one of William Wallace near Dryborough Abbey. (At least it is of him rather than of an Australian Film actor as at Stirling Castle) Further north en route to Killin, between Stirling and Doune, there is a very striking one of David Stirling of SAS fame. The blurb was hard to photograph as it was wet but if you click on the image it is just about legible. Perhaps we should have some more statues of distinguished people in the Borders-personages who have really left their mark on this part of Scotland-and I don't mean Reivers.
How about Edward the First?
