To day's Scotsman duly carries the apology as promised by the Dep Ed. It takes some finding-small print, and tucked away at the bottom of the correspondence page, but is there. Thankyou. Now to 'move on' but I wonder if it is quite the end of the affair. If I was the free lance author of the original piece who has had his knuckles wrapped, his reputation damaged and possibly his livelihood threatened I would be looking for the 'two sources' for his story who have been demonstrated to be the purveyors of porkies. They are the mischief makers in this instance and have some explaining to do.
