As a not-particularly-exiled Novocastrian by birth the sight of those bridges always sends a shiver up my back - often when I was living further away I'd detour just to go over the Tyne Bridge - sad but true.
For those who aren't sure which bridges they're looking at:
The picture is taken from the King Edward VII Bridge, the white one is the Queen Elizabeth II (Metro) Bridge, the one shrouded in tarpaulins is the Grade I listed High Level Bridge and the familiar arch of the Tyne Bridge beyond.
