No; Yes.Yes-but I have to say probably ignored by Israel until the US felt able to put on the squeeze privately/ So Fitting Yes, effective no.
Could/would you describe Israel as a Satellite state of the US? And if so why the delay in the US applying the squeeze? Is it due to the forthcoming US mid-terms, and the jewish vote, or Hezbollah's relationship with Iran?

No not a satellite but their interests coincide. In many eays it is the US that is the junior partner thanks to the unquestioned support that I srael gets from the powerful Jewish/Zionist lobby in America and increasingly from fundamental Christians: the Christian Zionists who include a number of neo-conservatives amongst their ranks. It is a powerful and courageous administration that dares publicly criticise Israel or challenge its actions.
Yes the US would like Israel to deal with Hizbullah and this is a reason for delaying a ceasefire.
Iran helped to arm and train Hizbullah in the early days but it is very much its own master and takes its owndecisions
