I love it around there - Loch Rannoch, Loch Tay, Loch Tummel (inc the much altered Queen's View - at least much altered by hydro schemes since Vickie was there), Falls of Bruar, Calvine, the distillery at Dalwhinnie..... all spoiled by Pitlochry and Aviemore of course :o)

By not being crowded with the David Urquhart Travel bus trips like the 'shortbread tin triangle' is. It's different strokes for different folks (but note to prospective visitors - don't have a stroke in the Borders, you may appear before Sheriff Kevin of Duns if the stroke is unwelcome)

Incidentally - I found a discarded McDonalds wrapper in a (for want of a better word for it) hedge on the isle of Islay, Queen of the Hebrides - the nearest McDonalds being at least a thrice weekly ferry ride to Oban away or a twice daily ride to Kennacraig plus a 100 mile drive away.....
