It is astonishing how such an asset as Paxton House, only 6 miles from Berwick and 4 from the A1 is so under used by the great British public. In an hour on a ravishingly attractive Autumn day we saw six other people-half of whom had walked in from Paxton village. There is certainly no need to flog over to Dawcyk to see the autumnal tints and the Tweed below the house is at its most spectacular. The house here is seen from the south -it is usually photographed from the north because of the splendid Palladian front. One great feature of this side is the view across the Tweed to England. A sight to gladden every Scotsman's heart.  ¶ 5:03 PM
