Hutton Expects

But probably not very much. It is hardly true to say that tout Hutton is agog with anticipation of a Croatia victory at Wembley tonight. But the general feeling is (which Huttonian shares) that Poor Old Scotland go out having played so well and England could go through having played so badly. There is no justice in this United Kingdom-vote SNP etc etc. Not that anyone in Hutton apart from Mrs O is likely to vote for the Nats.

The Croatian manager is highly critical of the Wembley pitch. Never been the same since they played American Footie on it a few weeks back.

It is probably too late to switch the match to Farmer H's field in front of the Kirk. Its a bit damp but not churned up and any cows could be put into the West Stand for the duration. I am sure the answer is a polite no but

it remains on the table.

isn't that Scotlands ideal result? They then complain how the English were lucky and they were robbed.

Vote for an Independent Scotland I say

But that might push up the price of porridge

I have never even thought of voting SNP before - I can even remember when "the laird " was going round sticking up SNP posters on the trees in his "silly years", when I was conservative branch chair! However the SNP in government have been a breath of fresh air, with intelligent, competent, ministers working for the country as a whole and NOT just looking to preen themselves in public in an orgy of self delusion and aggrandisement whilst making sure they adequately feathered their nests and covered their backs, as the previous incumbents were intent on doing.
Many, myself included, now expect that virtually the whole of Scotland will fall to the SNP at the next election, including Dunderhead Brown's seat. They do deserve a chance and could certainly secure it if they dropped their obsession with independence. That is NOT to say that, if the rest of the UK cannot rid themselves of Labour, then Scotland shouldn't go its own way. [I know it's a double negative, but that is what it is!]

But the trouble is by voting for SNP you are feeding their obsession with independence-a dangerous game that. And I am not sure that 'preening himself in public' does not describe Mr Salmond rather well (double negative again) And the lure of independence in the Celtic mist approach of some SNP adherents can amount to an orgy of self delusion. As for feathering nests-the jury is still out-at least being a minority administration, under constant scrutiny, it would be hard to get away with being corrupt.
Me, I would not buy a second car from Mr S, nor a new one from Ms S.

You need to look at the way the UK has gone down the pan under NULABOUR over the past ten years. It's become even worse under Dunderhead's regime, though it can be argued that what we have is Dunderhead's empire anyway, since he has spent most of Bliar's reign brooding and undermining the latter's "vision" and "legacy". When Dunderhead talks of his "vision" he can't cite anything specific because we're already in "it" - deep and up to the armpits - a total shambles and a disaster for the UK. Scotland can escape if they choose to, England cannot!

Well certainly the English foot ball team has gone down the pan. No doubt the nice Mr Cameron will find a way of blaming the lugubrious Mr Brown for that. And I must say, short term fix notwithstanding, separating Scotland from England is hardly going to do much for the UK and its international standing. From First World to Fourth, effortlessly
