This is the Whiteadder in spate at Edington Mill. The river level had gone down otherwise the precinct would have been in severe danger of flooding

Bird of Paradise calling! Your video and photos of the Berwick in flood are almost as impressive as those I took of Paradise in flood on 20 July last year. SHiD sounds idyllic and Duns is clearly a most desirable place to be! - I just hope some 'almost EC country' doesn't get wind of its convenience and affability, not to mention its deliciously handy sorting office. Years ago when we were doing a stint in Arbroath, letters from Brisbane would arrive promptly at 0730, having taken just 3 days from posting - north of the border gets more attractive by the minute! Love to you and The Lady of SHiD xxxooo PS. Polly is engaged to her young naval officer!
How right you are. If only the slippery Mr Salmond went downstream to spawn elsewhere this would be paradise indeed. Well done Polly. We can look forward to some Jolly Tar Babies?
